چکیده

The Neutron Radiography Reactor at Idaho National Laboratory (INL) has two beamlines extending radially outward from the east and north faces of reactor core. control rod withdrawal procedure recently been altered, potentially changing power distribution thus properties neutron beams, calling for characterization beams. East Station involved experiments used to measure following characteristics: flux, beam uniformity, cadmium ratio, image quality, energy spectrum. ERS is a Category-I radiography facility signifying it highest possible rank station can achieve. thermal equivalent flux was measured using gold foil activation determined be 9.61 × 106 ± 2.47 105 n/cm2-s with relatively uniform profile across plane. ratio measurement performed bare cadmium-covered foils 2.05 2.9%, indicating large epithermal fast content in beam. spectrum coupled unfolding algorithms provided by software package Unfolding MAXED GRAVEL (UMG). Monte-Carlo N-Particle (MCNP6) transport code assist process. UMG, MCNP6, activities were determine which implemented into MCNP6 model contribute future studies.

Radiation Safety Assessment of the New Neutron Radiography System at Tehran Research Reactor

Recently, a new Neutron Radiography (NR) beam line has been designed, constricted, installed and tested based on the use of E-beam tube of Tehran Research Reactor (TRR). Initial tests have been shown that the system can be used for different samples and purposes such as nuclear plates and rods fuels.  For this end the system need a suitable irradiation room which should be installed at the NR b...

Design and Performance Of A Thermal Neutron Beam for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy At The University Of Missouri Research Reactor

The University of Missouri Research Reactor has designed and constructed a thermal neutron beam line for use in small animal boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) experiments. Details of the facility have been previously reported by Brockman et al.[1] and Pozzi et al.[2]. The facility utilizes a 15.24 cm diameter beam tube that extends from the beryllium reflector to the biological shield, a dis...

Optimization of the epithermal neutron beam for Boron Neutron Capture Therapy at the Brookhaven Medical Research Reactor.

The use of epithermal neutron beam in clinical trials of Boron Neutron Capture Therapy for patients with malignant brain tumors had been carried out for half a decade at the Brookhaven's Medical Reactor. The decision to permanently close this reactor in 2000 cut short the efforts to implement a new conceptual design to optimize this beam in preparation for use with possible new BNCT protocols. ...

Collimator Design for Neutron Radiography Systems Using a Reactor Flux

This paper is aimed to investigate the design of an optimized neutron radiography system that utilizes the flux of a reactor. Moderation, collimation aspects are studied. A Monte Carlo code, MCNP4C, was utilized to achieve a maximum and more homogenous neutron flux in the collimator outlet next to the image plane, taking into account geometric characteristics. It was possible to obtain a normal...
